SSC CHSL 10+2 Recruitment 2024

Staff Selection Commission has published the official notification for 10+2 level candidates. Eligible candidates can apply for SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) 2024 Vacancies till the last date which is 7th May, 2024. Applicants need to read the rules and regulations carefully before submitting the final form as discrepancies in the registration form can cause hinderance at the time of selection.

SSC CHSL Application Fee

  • Applicants belonging to Unreserved Category, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will have to pay Rs. 100/-
  • Women, Candidates from ST, SC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen don’t have to pay application fee. Charges for these applicants is Rs. 0/-
  • Payment modes which are applicable include Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, SBI Challan, Net Banking.
  • Online Payment can be done upto 08-05-2024 till 23:00 hours.

SSC CHSL No. of Vacancies

Total Vacancies is approx. 3712. However, it can be changed as per the official notification. In case of Updated vacancies, category and post wise vacancies will be updated on official website of the Commission (https://ssc.gov.in/ > Candidate’s Corner > Tentative Vacancy).

SSC CHSL Age Criteria

Candidates should be of age ranging between 18 years and 27 years (both inclusive) by 1st August, 2024. Relaxation has also been provided to candidates belonging to categories such as OBC, PwD, SC, ST, PwD + OBC, Ex-Servicemen, Divorced Women, Widows, etc.

SSC CHSL Education Qualification

  • For Data Entry Operator (DEO) in Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Ministry of Culture : 12th Standard Passed with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Science stream.
  • For Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secreteriat Assistant (JSA) : 12th Class or Equivalent Exam Passed Candidates from recognised Board/University.

SSC CHSL Salary

Candidates selected via SSC CHSL examination will be paid following salary depending on the job posts:

  • JSA / LDC : Pay Level 2 (Rs. 19,900/- to 63200/-)
  • DEO : Pay Level 4 (Rs. 25,500/- to Rs. 81,100/-) and Level 5 (Rs. 29,200/- to Rs. 92,300/-)
  • Data Entry Operator Grade A : Pay Level 4 (Rs. 25,500/- to Rs. 81,100/-)

SSC CHSL Schema of Exam

The computer-based exam will be conducted in two tiers :

Tier I

  • There will be 4 subjectsGeneral Intelligence, English Language (Basic Knowledge), Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness.
  • Each subject will have 25 questions and maximum marks for each subject will be 50.
  • Time duration of the exam including all the 4 parts will be 60 minutes. For candidate applicable for getting scribe, total timing will be 80 minutes.
  • It will be of objective type and multiple choice questions.
  • Medium of question paper will be English, Hindi and the language chosen by the applicant while filing the registration form.
  • Negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answers.

Tier II

  • It will have 3 sections in total:
    • Section I :
      • Mathematical Abilities
      • Reasoning and General Intelligence
    • Section II :
      • English Language
      • General Awareness
    • Section III :
      • Computer Knowledge Test
      • Skill Test / Typing Test
  • All the sections of Tier II must be qualified by candidates mandatorily.
  • Tier II will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions except for Skill Test / Typing Test.
  • Negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer for Section I, Section II and Computer Knowledge Test. Therefore, candidates are advised to answer questions carefully.

SSC CHSL Application Form Correction

  • Commission will provide 2 days of time for candidates to modify their respective application form.
  • A candidate can resubmit the corrected application two times during Application Form Correction Window. If he/she makes mistake in his/her updated application too, he/she will be given one more chance to rectify and submit one more corrected application. No further changes or submission will be entertained by the Commission.
  • Candidate will have to pay Rs. 200/- for first time correction request. For second time, Commission will charge Rs. 500/- for resubmitting the corrected application form.
  • Correction charges can only be paid via online mode such as Net Banking, BHIM UPI, Mastercard, Rupay Credit or Debit Cards.
  • Correction requests made via Fax, email, post, etc. would be rejected by the Commission.

SSC CHSL Document Verification

Candidates have to submit copies of following documents during document verification process by User Departments:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Education Qualification Certificate
  • Category / Caste Certificate if reservation is applicable
  • PwBD Certificate if applicable
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) if selected candidate is government employee
